Planning
So far, we have choosen who we would like to be with for filming. I choose to go with Bex, Stuart and Andi. Next we decided which lessons we all had free so we could film then. We all agreed that either a Wednesday, a Thursday or a Tuesday were the best days to do filming.
After studying all of the different camera shots and techniques, we started to plan our preminilary video. The film could be no longer than 2 minutes.
Bex then wrote up the camera role, which included all the different shot types and techniques that we wanted to include in our film, as well as any dialougue that we wanted in our films. We all helped with ideas while Bex typed it up.
While we were doing that, me and Andi were also drawing up a rough version of the storyboard, this helped to show what shots we would hopefully use in the filming.
Our group then tryed out both a still camera and a video camera, to get use to the way they work. Unfortanlly I was away when we tryed out the vidio camera so did not get used to the camera.
Our shooting date is lesson 4, Wednesday 19th November.
Filming
Before we started to film we needed to find some actors to be in our film. This is because we were not allowed to be in our own movie. In the end we found 2 people who would be in our film. These were Shuan and Laura in year 13. Stuart had also drawn up a "snap-board" on a white board. This was to say what take it was and to brake up the filming.
For our filming we decided to go and use the Art corridor and the 6th form art room. This was because it is a quite corridor and the room is easily accesible.
Unfortanlly we did not all agree on the script and so we kind of improvised as we went along, which was interesting to say the least.
To start off with we were going to have Shaun walking along the corridor but he was to tall for the camera. We then decided to use Laura instead. All of us had a go in using the camera and thinking of what we could do to make it better.
We had fun experimenting with the camera and findin out what could work and actully working the camera.
We did go a little bit over the hour we were surposed to have and we went about 15 miniute into lunch.
Are editing is due to be on Monday the 24th @ 1:15-3:15
Editing
When we got the chance to edit we did find out some problems. One of them was we kept on changeing which side we were on when filming the shots. Another one was that when we filmed oppisite a window, the light kept on changing and it made Shuans head look dark on one side but light on the other.
We did get it all finished in the 2 hours and we have only a little bit left to do like the tittles and some little adjustments. We are hoping to do that soon.
We all had a go at the editing and i think that all we need to do is just keep on playing about with it and experimenting with it.
We have now finished all of our editing. All 4 of us did some on Monday mourning and we got most of it completed. Later on me and Becky finished off the little bits to tidy it up and then we renderred it and burnt it onto a DVD.
Here is our final peice for hte Prelimary task.

Well done Nathan - this is coming along well - you're being methodical and detailed in your research and obviously enjoying it. Make sure that when you complete any research that you explain how it will influence your thriller - e.g. BBFC age ratings, typical ideas from thriller openings that you might use. You need to post your questionnaire details, methodology, etc. Also put the results of your audience research on too - make sure that you comment on how it will influence your thriller. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT - SHOW HOW YOUR AUDIENCE'S KNOWLEDGE AND EXPECTATIONS HAVE INFLUENCED YOUR OPENING. I'd also relate your BBFC research back to thrillers - e.g. if your thriller is a 15 what does that mean in terms of what you can show etc. From this point you can put on details of the development of your idea - outline, storyboards, shooting scripts, etc. Well done!
:DDDDD
